The multi-storey car park runs along Charles Street with seven staggered floors, currently providing 766 spaces over 13 levels.
Options are being explored to add two more levels to provide up to 100 car parking spaces.
The proposals for the car park will include new surface coatings, the reconfiguration of marked spaces, a new entrance and improved lighting.
