An integral part of the proposals is the delivery of public realm improvements. We aim to create a beautiful new environment which will create a memorable experience for visitors to the site.
The proposals will include new seating, lighting, soft landscaping, and new surface materials, all designed to create opportunities for visitors to dwell and socialise.
The new external seating will clearly define individual public spaces and complement the food and beverage offer. These measures will introduce a key new space adjacent to the entrance to the multi-storey car park at the southern end of Bridgewater Way.
The public realm proposals retain the existing footbridge crossing Charles Street which links the residential areas to the west directly into the town centre. Improvements to the bridge itself would include new lighting and finishes and potentially the greening of the bridge structure.
